Lost My N0UN MySQL Database, Sorry!

Thanks to the clowns at GoDaddy, my N0UN.net MySQL database is irretrievably lost.

What that means is ALL past pages, posts and comments on N0UN.net are gone and cannot be recovered.  I did backup the non-database items like pictures, recordings, text files, etc., but that really doesn't do much good without the database records that "call" them into play.

Oh well, life moves on.  By the way - you really didn't miss that much anyway, lol!

See you in the pileups!

That’s ridiculous. Are you sure they don’t have a backup of the lost data? I think they are feeding you a line of crap. Perhaps they have the data but they don’t want to spend the time to retrieve it.

I was having some database issues for over a month. Plesk was not “seeing” the MySQL databases at times. For over a month GD could not find the problem, and neither could I. The server had to be rebooted (power cycled) daily, and it was getting worse. Lately, up to 3 times a day. I did have my web files and websites backed up (just in case), but since Plesk wasn’t seeing the all the databases all the time, it did not download them. A couple MySQL databases were downloaded, but the N0UN database was not one of them. During an attempted server upgrade by GD at 4 AM, they “reprovisioned” the server – and all was lost.
